COSMOSQUAD: Original Lineup To Reunite For One-Night-Only Performance
March 25, 2004L.A. metal fusioneers COSMOSQUAD will be reuniting in their original line-up — guitarist Jeff Kollman (GLENN HUGHES, $IGN OF 4),bassist Barry Sparks (DOKKEN, TED NUGENT, B'Z),and drummer Shane Gaalaas (GLENN HUGHES, B'Z, $IGN OF 4) — for the first time in 14 months for a one-night only live appearance at the Baked Potato, 3878 Cahuenga Blvd W., N. In related news, Jeff Kollman and Shane Gaalaas have just finished up the debut album with their latest venture CRUMB BROS., also featuring vocalist/keyboardist Mark Renk and keyboardist Evan Beigel. Titled "Recycled Influence", the record is being described as "artsy, folksy, dark, and melancholy" and sounding "a bit along the lines of PINK FLOYD and RADIOHEAD." No release has been announced as of yet.
Meanwhile, Barry Sparks has been busy putting together his second solo album, "Can't Look Back", due out shortly. Ted Nugent ("Liberty") and Billy Gibbons of ZZ TOP ("Breathe") contribute guitar on one song each. Sparks will be back in action with DOKKEN who have set a May 18 release date through Sanctuary Records for their new album, "Hell To Pay", and can also be heard on the forthcoming SCORPIONS record, "Unbreakable", out May 3. Barry is featured on two tracks on the latter CD: "Borderline" and "Love 'em and Leave 'em".
